New aero Nissan GTR body kit

Previously Tommy Kaira announced their initial renderings of the new aero kit for the highly sought after Nissan GT-R. Now we have the official pictures of the body kit set to display at the Tokyo Auto Salon. The new kit is called ‘Wet Carbon’ from Tommy Kaira, and features several new body pieces. A new front bumper with lip spoiler, side skirts, air ducts all around, rear bumper, trunk spoiler, rear racing diffuser, and fender flares for the rear give the Nissan GT-R a fantastic look. Surely this will become one of the most popular body kits for the GTR, and many will try to duplicate the quality work by Tommy Kaira.

The wheels you see pictured are AVS Model F15 rims painted Platinum Black, and measure up to be 9.5×20 in the front, and 10.5×20 in the rear. Wrapped around all four wheels are Pirelli P-Zero tires measuring 255/40R20 in the front, and 285/35R20 at the rear. All the body parts were custom made of carbon fiber for the Nissan GT-R, and the complete body kit costs $18,500.

Tommy Kaira will also offer less expensive tuning kits that will include only the front bumper, lip spoiler, side ducts, and rear diffuser for $6,900. Other options that customers can choose from include dry carbon front fender finishers, dry carbon front fender ducts, and dry carbon door handle surrounds. The interior received a new red theme with the addition of Recaro racing seats.

For performance and handling, the tuning company can hook up the Nissan GT-R with a complete titanium exhaust system, Endless MONO6 & 6R caliper brake kit, and a Quantum Super Sports suspension system. The modified GTR exhaust is priced at $3,800, while the braking system goes for $20,000, and the suspension kit is priced at $6,900.

Switzer Performance Nissan GTR Track Animal: 800 Agile Horsepower

There isn't that much about Ohio that calls to me. I like rock music, but not enough to make the trek out to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That's a stop I'd make on my way somwhere, but it's not important I make it a final destination anytime soon. There's the Kelton House in Columbus, which, so far as I can tell, is a really really old house with old things inside. As cool as a chair from 1756 is, I find the power cable of an Xbox more interesting to look at. Drew Carey was born in Ohio. Know where lives? Not in Ohio. However, there is small place in this quiet state that I want to visit: Switzer Performance.

Ever since Switzer hit the streets with their 800 horsepower GTR kit (the P800), we've had our eyes glued, covering several of their incredible cars. All their cars strike fear in the hearts of worried moms and stock exotics alike, but their new one is hoping to be a record breaker. It's their newest Nissan GTR, unofficially dubbed, "The Switzer Performance Track Animal."

Nissan India Hands Over GT-R To Karthikeyan

Nissan India has handed over the keys of a GT-R to Padmashri Narain Karthikeyan, the fastest Indian on wheels at a ceremony held at Madras Motor Sports Club, Irrungattukottai near Chennai. Narain Karthikeyan, an ardent and self-proclaimed fan of performance cars also drove the Nissan GT-R on the test track for some hot laps providing a visual treat of the power of this performance supercar.

The Nissan GT-R registered the World’s fastest ever laptime for a mass-produced supercar at the Nrburgring circuit, less than 7 minutes 30 seconds (clocked as on April 2009). From time-to-time, the driver can enjoy the comfortable ride given by ‘sports cruising,’ by shifting the A-range (automatic gear shifting) into Resort mode. Features include an advanced full-time four-wheel drive system that improves traction and cornering power. This four-wheel drive system uses an independent transaxle 4WD (a world first) for greater agility. There is a brand new 480 PS (353 kW) V6 twin-turbo engine that combines power with an ultra-low emission exhaust and the best fuel economy in its sector.
